日本では、オペラ歌手やクラシックを歌う者は音楽大学を出ているということが前提。しかし、私は音大卒ではありません。アメリカの大学を卒業し、ただの会社員だった私。ところが、イタリア共和国から勲章を頂いた功績を持つ偉大なオペラ歌手であり最高の指導者である師と出会い、人生が一変したのです。

They think the classical music singers must be graduates of Music University here in Japan.  But I am not a Music University graduate.  I graduated from Purdue University in the U.S. and was just a office worker.  But my life changed dramatically by having this fortunate opportunity of being a pupil of the greatest singer and the best teacher of Italian Opera.

楽譜通りに歌うことだけでは「歌」とは言えない。
その役になりきり、声によって感情やキャラクターを表現することにある。そう思い、日々精進しています。

Singing is not only following the music score, but to act the character to show her emotions and be who she is.  Those are important to talk about myself singing.

伝承していく

Handing Down

日本人歌手にとってイタリア人のような歌声になることは大きく高い目標。その目標に最短で行ける究極の声楽のメソッドを後世に伝承していくことは新井直樹師の一番弟子としての役目であり、責任であると自負しています。

For Japanese singers, singing like Italian singes is one of the biggest goals.  I believe it is my duty and also my responsibility to hand down the greatest method I've received from my teacher Naoki Arai, the tenor singer.
